Right now, the Australian government is meeting with fossil fuel giants behind closed doors.

Fossil fuel giants are pushing hard to rapidly expand fossil fuel extraction and they’re using the fuel crisis as an excuse to try to do it in our pristine marine wilderness on Australia’s coasts.

The Great Australian Bight is one of the most pristine marine environments on Earth—home to whale nurseries, ancient reef systems and extraordinary life. Not long ago, it was on the brink of becoming an oil field.

But people like you stood up—and together, we stopped it.

Now, that same pressure isn’t just aimed at one place—it’s spreading across Australia’s oceans.

Once these areas are opened up, there’s no going back.

Please, help put a stop to secretive backroom deals to dramatically expand drilling and mining.

Right now, fossil fuel companies are pushing to open up vast areas of Australia’s oceans to fossil fuels—using the energy crisis as their excuse.

From whale nurseries to coral reefs and fragile marine ecosystems, everything is now on the table.

We’ve seen how close this can get—and we’ve seen what it takes to stop it. Now the scale is bigger, and the pressure is stronger.

Once a place like this is damaged, recovery can take generations—if it happens at all.

Please, help to stop it before it begins.

This is happening on your shores. In your oceans. And it’s being decided in rooms you’re locked out of, by people you trusted to care for Australia’s wilderness, and climate.

Sign our open letter to Anthony Albanese and Murray Watt, before it’s too late. Tell them to say no to new gas and fossil fuel projects that would put our oceans and marine life at risk.

To Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Minister for the Environment Murray Watt,

We are writing to remind you of the promises you made about the climate when you took office.
That you would reduce emissions, prioritise renewable energy solutions, and look after Australia as the climate crisis deepens.

We, the Australian public - your constituents - call on you to reject any new fossil fuel projects that would put Australia’s wilderness areas and ecosystems at risk.

The energy crisis must NOT be used as justification to fast-track fossil fuel approvals in places of outstanding natural and environmental value.

Our children and grandchildren deserve to inherit a protected Australia. Not one where short-term decisions lock in long-term damage.

We urge you to hold the line. No new oil and gas projects. No new fossil fuel expansion.
