On 3 November, the NSW Deputy Premier announced he will kill off plans for a new coalfield on the doorstep of the Wollemi National Park.

It’s unthinkable that new climate-killing coal mines could be built anywhere at this time in history—but especially on the doorstep of the Blue Mountains World Heritage Area. And yet that is exactly what the NSW government was planning.

That was until Wilderness Society supporters like you voiced your opposition loud and clear with 26,000 signatures against the proposed coal release areas.
