Dear Minister Dimopoulos,
East Gippsland’s globally significant forest corridor—from the Alps to the coast—is valued by communities, visitors and Traditional Owners alike. I care deeply about its ancient rainforests, giant trees and threatened species, and want to see these values protected for the long term.

Emerald Link is an initiative working to restore biodiversity, protect forests, and create opportunities so future generations can flourish in East Gippsland.

In 2018 the Victorian government committed to the Sea to Summit Trail, and developed market research and a feasibility study—yet progress has stalled. Without investment, our forests and communities are being left behind.

Minister Dimopoulos, please act now to complete this work. East Gippsland can lead a conservation economy that restores forests and creates local jobs, but it requires your leadership.

As the minister responsible for caring for the environment and outdoor recreation in Victoria, I call on you to:
- Continue investment in the Sea to Summit initiative by funding the next phase of work—developing a 4–5 day forest adventure experience north of Mt Ellery, in line with the government’s study recommendations.
- Support complementary conservation economy projects in the region such as Valley of the Giants walk, Kuark Super loop 4WD experience, and undertake urgent repairs of the Errinundra Saddle Rainforest Boardwalk.
- Complete the review of the Public Land Act to modernise land protections and management approaches ensuring our laws reflect current climate, biodiversity and cultural landscape needs, enable Traditional Owner leadership, and support the growth of a conservation economy in East Gippsland.

Minister, you have an opportunity to set a new standard for environmental leadership in Victoria—one that protects and restores forests, supports regional communities, and creates world-class nature experiences.
