Last Thursday, the Senate voted to hold an inquiry into the Morrison Government’s poorly thought-out bill to water down our national environment law and hand their environmental responsibilities to the states.

The Government has blocked previous attempts to send the bill to inquiry, and has made sure it's as short as possible so that this bill—and what it may mean for our iconic native species and natural places—doesn’t get the scrutiny it deserves.

We have 48 hours to make sure they can’t sneak this under the radar.

If thousands of Australians make their views known in this inquiry, it will show the Senate that Australians don’t want this bill and make it harder for the Government to rush these dodgy changes through. It will support key Senators, who have been refusing to pass this bill until it receives proper scrutiny, to keep holding the Government to account. And it may help these Senators ask for a proper inquiry—one that can really dig into all the complex ramifications of this bill.
